Community Involvement

Giving back to the community is important to us.

Healthy Pet Hospital & Grooming is happy to help our community whenever possible. We feel that we are very lucky to be surrounded by such a great community filled with families, children, business professionals, volunteers, and much more.

We sponsor local school sports and programs with donations to assist them in purchasing items they need to succeed. It is rewarding to see the smile on these kid’s faces when they are able to play the sport they want, be in the local play, or go on field trips and more.

We help support pets in need. We work with several pet rescues every day. We provide care that they need so that they can continue living better lives. Many of these pets have been rescued from the pounds or the street. We are able to help the rescues to achieve the goals of having happy healthy pets that can find a forever home.

We sponsor the “Park Your Paws’ pet sitting booth at Home Grown’s Old Towne Orange Farmers and Artisans Market. This allows you to be able to visit the market and spend time with your pets. Shop while pet loving volunteers watch your pets. We also help organize their annual Howloween Petacular event where we invite local pet rescues and pet organizations to this pet friendly event. It also gives the  rescues the opportunity to raise donations.http://orangehomegrown.org/

Education of proper pet care is important to pet owners of all ages. This is why we give Girl Scout tours and education. This gives them the time to learn about caring for their pets. Our Veterinarians are very eager to teach the next generation more about pet care. We also accept internships from local colleges for those in pre-vet classes. We think that having hands on education will help make these students great vets one day. We also accept students from local high schools that are enrolled in a business skills class. This allows the student to learn all aspects of how a business runs. We have them experience all jobs of the hospital so that they can see what it takes to run a business.

We enjoy participating in local pet events. We will bring information and giveaways for pet owners. Our Veterinarian will also speak at some events and show demos of different types of pet care. Again, emphasizing the importance of pet owner education. This gives the pet owners the opportunity to learn more, ask questions, and with this, be able to give their pets the best care.

We are a drop off location for Operation Santa Paws. This allows pet lovers to drop off supplies needed by the local OC Animal Care shelter. A few days before Christmas we will take the box filled with supplies and drop off at the shelter and they also allow us to visit the pets and give them a donated toy or treat. We also offer free exams for newly adopted pets. We think this is a great way to start their new life with their new loving owners. http://www.hautedogs.org/santapaws.html

Along with our business Facebook page, we have a Facebook Page named Lost and Found Pets OC to post lost/found pets and help reunite people with their pets. Nobody wants to lose their pet, but if they do, we want to help. We will post on our page and we also have a folder in our office where pictures can be posted. Any pet that is found and brought in to our office we scan at no charge to see if they are microchipped. If they are, we will contact client and reunite them. If you lose a pet, make sure to call us!   https://www.facebook.com/lostandfoundpetsoc/

We have helped the local organization Helping Homeless Companions by giving them donations of pet food, collars, pet shampoo and more. This organization helps pets of homeless people and is run by volunteers. We appreciate the time and effort they put in to care for pets in need. https://www.facebook.com/HHCvolunteergroup/

Healthy Pet Hospital & Grooming has a “Teacher’s Pet” school supply donation drive in August. The community is given the opportunity to drop off school supplies like pencils, pens, etc. When they drop off they are entered into a raffle to win a back to school gift basket and also receive a $5 off coupon to use for pet services on their next visit. These supplies will then be donated to local elementary schools. We feel that helping kids is such an important part in supporting our community.

We participated in the re-grand opening of the Orange Dog Park. This park is organized by a group of great dog lovers. Throughout the year they have fundraising events and we will be here to help them in any way we can. Make sure to take your dog there for a visit!  http://www.orangedogpark.com

Look out for our donated gift baskets filled with goodies for your pets. We love supporting groups in our community and so we donate pet gift baskets to help them raise money for their organizations through raffles and silent auction. The Orange Public Library Foundation http://www.oplfoundation.org/ is a great organization plus they carry many pet educational materials at their libraries. We have also donated to the Orange Blossoms http://orangeblossomsalo.org/  which is a great local organization that helps the community.
